Study in Malaysia: real cost breakdown for Bangladeshi students

Study in Malaysia: real cost breakdown for Bangladeshi students

Malaysia remains the single most cost-effective English-medium destination for Bangladeshi students, but the numbers agencies quote are usually tuition only. Here is the full picture for one academic year in Kuala Lumpur.

Tuition at a good private university runs between USD 2,500 and 5,500 per year for undergraduate programmes. Public universities can be lower, but competition for international seats is much tighter.

Accommodation in a shared student apartment costs USD 100 to 180 a month. Food, if you cook and eat at campus canteens, runs about USD 100 a month. Transport with a student MRT pass is under USD 25.

The costs people forget: the EMGS student pass application, medical screening on arrival, health insurance, and the visa processing fee. Budget around USD 700 in one-time first-year charges.

All in, a realistic first-year budget is USD 6,500 to 9,500. Every AREC student gets this sheet in writing, with their own shortlisted university's actual figures, before applying.
